(Europeia, July 02, 2018) - Some exciting and unfortunate events have transpired in Europeia over the past week. In the exciting category Vice Chancellor Deepest House announced this week the opening of standing for the 66th Senate election, and the vibrant Constitutional Convention continued on to consider ideas in new categories. On the unfortunate side, the Ministers of Culture and Foreign Affairs, elected to step down from their positions. The latter resignation of Aexnidaral Seymour, also resulted in the vacancies of the positions of Associate Justice of the High Court and World Assembly Delegate after over 300 days in the latter position.

On July 6th, 2018 Citizens will hit the polls and vote in their most favored Senators, an act all of Europeia deems honorable and one of the greatest civic duties to their region. So far only two of the current, unusually large nine person, senate have stood for re-election, Vlaska and Pichtonia. They are currently accompanied by five other newer members of the region who look to bring fresh faces into the Senate.

The proposals that were discussed in the Executive portion of the Constitutional Convention came to a strong debate on where to push the region further. Offering the Idea for voting for the Ministers as well as the Senate and Presidency was among the first ideas which in turn lead to the next proposal. Splitting the Executive section of the government into an Internal and Foreign setup, this proposal met sharp criticism yet a more solid conclusion as most seemed to agree with the idea. The final proposal was about turning Region Service Center into a more economic style rather than a points style incentive system. The idea rose into a full blown economic system and seems to have raised some support. This coming week the Convention will consider proposed changes to the legislative branch and general societal changes before making recommendations to the Senate and the President.

On June 25, Culture Minister locustofcharon resigned following a controversy revolving around a critical independent media article. Following the resignation, President Deepest House announced open applications for the position and following that process nominated promising new member Vulturret to hold the position.

Two days later on June 27, the esteemed long serving civil servant, Aexnidaral Seymour announced his retirement from nation states after a lavish and successful career. His retirement opened up multiple positions. The most important of which, World Assembly Delegate, was filled by Presidential nomination on June 28. The nominee is current Minister of World Assembly Affairs, Ervald. Please endorse his nation Southwestern Germany as the region begins the transition process.

President Deepest House also nominated former Minister of Foreign Affairs Isaris to fill that position again for the remainder of the term. The final vacancy to be filled was an associate justice of the High Court which was filled by current Minister of Communications GraVandius.
