Recruitment, Newcomers, and More

Recruitment
The Ministry of Interior reached incredible numbers this week for recruitment. Under Minister JayDee, recruitment contests seem to have garnered a lot of activity within the Interior and its recruitment. The total amount of recruitment telegrams sent this week reached 2,274, according to the Interiors weekly update. Most notably, Caleban invested a huge amount of time into recruiting, with 1,007 telegrams, almost 50 percent of all recruitment that week. Deputy Minister Cool Spring noted that this was the highest number of recruitment telegrams he could remember, and the massive number crushed the goal of 1,700 telegrams.

Citizen Spotlight
Vice President Pierce's citizen spotlight highlighted citizen Caleban this week. As noted before, Caleban has been leading the recruitment numbers. Caleban has also been a great help to the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs, where he has authored a couple IFV's.

Redistricting Competition
Citizen Lloenflys has proposed a "Redistricting Competition" on the forums, as a response to a conversation in the discord chat. The competition would be all for fun and would allow contestants to try their hand and creating the best gerrymandered districts for different political goals. Many citizens have already showed interest in the competition, and it shows potential to be a fun event for all of Europeia.

Senate Trouble
The Senate has hit a few snags this week, slowing down reform efforts as Senator JayDee finds himself in the middle of Senate drama. The drama originates from senators calling out JayDee on some of his actions as Senate Speaker, most notably the introduction of a draft of the Executive Split Amendment authored by Drecq, the attorney general, to the Senate floor. Many senators attacked JayDee on these actions. According to Aexnidaral Seymour, JayDee was claiming to be "unfairly attacked" for not "being perfect". While we could not find these comments in the Europeian Discord, JayDee did not seem to dispute this matter. After continued comments aimed towards JayDee and a motion for removal of the Speaker, JayDee resigned from the Senate. He states that HEM's motion did not affect his decision on the matter, however, and it was something he had been thinking about for a bit.

Senate By-Elections
As a result of the resigning senator, by-elections have opened up. So far the contestants include Vinage Vinage, Darcness, and GraVandius. Vulturret had initially stood, however has since unstood from the elections. Standing remains open for four more days.

2020 Primary Draft
Aexnidaral Seymour, HEM, and Sopo ran a radio show on Tuesday in which they predicted the top contenders for the 2020 Democratic nomination. After assembling their teams, they went to the forums to see what Europeia thought of their drafts, and who Europeia thought would win. So far, HEM has 10 votes in his favor, taking the lead. However, we will wait to see who really wins out.

Ministry of Culture-Authored by Prim
With the recent resignation of Minister Rachael, Sopo had recently put forward Bowzin for the position to replace her. Concluding the confirmation vote Thursday morning, Bozwin has been confirmed as the new Minister of Culture. This term will see a strong emphasis on festivals, as the EuroChoice Festival is planned for January with a festival with the TEP following sometime later in the term.

Ministry of World Assembly Affairs-Authored by Prim
While there have been no announcements yet, Minister Aexnidaral has opened applications for Deputy Ministers. The positions will have activity requirements per some guidelines laid out in the Ministry subforum. Aexnidaral is also looking to vet someone for the position of Vice Delegate, mainly focusing on someone who can provide additional coverage over the RMB. If anyone has interest in these positions, message Aexnidaral on Discord!
EDIT: Since the writing of this section, Aexnidaral has appointed Prim as Deputy Delegate of RMB Engagement and Caleban as Deputy Delgate of Voting and IFVs. Kari was also appointed as Deputy Delegate.

The "Senate Trouble" portion is a mess and a half...

My resignation happened at the same time as the motion. Correlation, not causation.

I am not going to disagree with you....
Thing is, besides ripping sections from an unused draft of Prim's, I had to write all the sections again(Looking at you, Min of Comms) and had to do so in a rush, trying to get it up yesterday, which didn't even happen. And then, there was a lack of editing.

"He states that HEM's motion did not affect his decision on the matter"

Oof, I feel you. Tough to do anything when/if you're not getting much feedback.

So instead you published an inaccurate mess of an article instead of delaying while it was being discussed in the WPG?

Many senators attacked JayDee on these actions.
Nice to see that Senators can not be critical of their Speaker without "attacking" them.

A weekly update. Attacking does not always have to be a bad thing...
Defintion of attack:
criticize or oppose fiercely and publicly.

"Attack" in a political environment never has good connotations
