CA Chair Election

CA Chair Election
Johny Costello wins the election

Written by Vlaska

Yet another CA Chair election has been held, and newcomer Johnny Costello has risen to his first elected position within our region. He ran unopposed. Johnny ran on a platform titled “Third times the charm?”, in which he described the Citizens’ Assembly as a place for newcomers to practice crafting bills and exchanging ideas. He also stated that the CA Chair should be more involved with welcoming newcomers and debating reform proposals. Johnny also promised to post ideas and bills himself in order to kickstart the now inactive Citizens’ Assembly. His platform suggests that we will see the beloved “The Mockingbird” publication revived.

The election went without much campaigning, and many distinguished citizens voiced their support for Johnny. There were a total of 33 votes cast, of which 25 were to elect Johnny while 8 were to reopen the elections. More than two-thirds of voters felt confident that Johnny Costello was the right choice.

In his opening statement as CA Chair, Johnny called on everyone to contribute as much as they can regardless of their experience. He stated that he believes we can make the Assembly active again. No Deputy Chairs were appointed as that will be handled through an application process in which anyone with an interest in the CA is encouraged to apply.
